Hey everyone, happy Monday!!! What does that mean??? Another challenge over at the Design Dollies!!!!! That's right, it's the end of the month which means Trifecta time. For those of you new to the Dollies you can read all about the Trifecta HERE to catch up : )
So lets recap, our colour challenge was this beauty:
Our elements challenge was all about love.
Then there was the fabulous sketch:
So we put it all together and this is what I came up with:

You may notice the date on my layout is for the future. My husband and I will have been together for 8 years in April so this layout is dedicated to him. I don't tell him enough how awesome he is.
I don't know if you can see it but I used Studio Calico's creme Mister Hueys. Love that stuff.
Now head on over to the Dollies to see what my fabulous team mates came up with for their Trifecta. There is also a pretty fabulous prize up for grabs but you have to play along for a chance : )

Now, if the Dollies challenge isn't enough for you my fellow team mates at These are a few of my favourite things have a new challenge up. This is a fun one... Fav Feature!!!!! So pick your own favourite feature or someone else's. I'm thinking my husbands dimple would be great. Looking Back

Ugh, I just typed up this huge long post and accidentally closed the window before I was done.
Ugh!!! Long story short, love Project 12, did the entire year for 2010 and decided it was well worth my time to continue with 2011. Here is my Jan 2011 layout:
You can go HERE for all of the details. I highly recommend playing along!!!

I also decided to play along with Crate Papers Feb sketch. I used an old collection. I think it's called Mia (I could be wrong). Love the soft colours of this line.

Head over to the Crate Paper Blog for more details to play along.
Yesterday I overhauled my scraproom. I'm taking Karen Grunberg's Finding Yourself class and one of the things she mentioned was that she sorts her products by colour. I always sorted by manufacturer but after going through all of my treasures I discovered items that I completely forgot about. One of them was the Mia line by Crate Paper. So I spent the entire day going through EVERYTHING and re-organizing. It feels good to be organized.
Hopefully I will get more scrapbooking in this weekend!!!

Another Moxie fab card?

Well I'm hooked... almost. I am really enjoying making cards lately. After Moxie Fab World had a misting card challenge that I joined in on, I just couldn't resist doing another.

I used Tattered Angels Apple Glimmer Mist, Maya Mists Pink Lemonade and the bird cages (Crafters Workshop) were misted in Blueberry Metallic.
I also stamped using Tattered Angels clear stamps Misting tools in Rockin' Renaissance Tattered Textures. I used Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Pumice.
I also added the Maya Road Ornate tags and distress inked it also in Pumice and then stamped it using a Studio Calico "Thank You" stamp in Pink Lemonade from Fresh Ink.

For a final touch I added the little pearls.

I am loving these card challenges. You can play too. Head on over to Moxie Fab World to join.

Monday, Monday

Happy Monday everyone. Back to the grind. Is it just me or has 2011 been going way too fast?
Well, Monday is a new day in the Doll House and we have a fabulous sketch for you today.
Don't you love it?
I got a little more creative with this one. I used Crate Paper Restoration and I also used Tattered Angels Glimmer Glam. That's those paint splatters you see. I also used 2 photos instead of one.

I quite like how this layout turned out. You should head on over to the Dollies to see what the other fab ladies created. Tons of fabulous inspiration, and... you'll be able to congratulate January's sketch winner!!!!
Now head on over to the Design Dollies HERE for all of the details on how you can have a chance at winning a GC to 2 Peas in a Bucket!!!!

A card

Hey everyone, today I am going to share another card with you. I know I have said it before but I will say it again. I am not a card maker. When I make cards it is to use up some scraps I have and I usually just throw it together right before it it needed.
Moxie Fab World is having a Stamping with Shimmer Sprays challenge and I thought I would give it a go. So here is my Thinking of You card.
I used some Cosmo Cricket ribbon and My Little Yellow Bicycle paper (grey/yellow dots) and Basic Grey Hopscotch.
I used the new lightbulb stamp from Studio Calico (it came in my Feb kit). I heat embossed it in black then misted with Maya Mist Sunflower yellow and Tattered Angels Glimmer mist Dreamsicle.

I think I'm getting better at cards but I'll have to keep practicing.

Just playing around

Right before Christmas I met with one of the store owners where I teach and discussed what the new trends might be. CHA was fast approaching and we thought it would be fun to see what we thought would be the top items. I said canvas would be huge this year and I was right!!! When I found out Tattered Angels and Prima teamed up to bring us their awesome canvas lines I was ecstatic to say the least.
Anyways, I had a 12x12 mounted canvas piece that I broke out on the weekend to play with. I used some Glimmer Mists, some Glimmer Glam, some distress inks a few stamps and screens and went to town. While creating my 3 year old asked if I could make this canvas for her to hang in her room. How could I say no. So I fond an old picture of her and made her a little artwork ; )

I also used some Pink Paislee Parisian Anthology corrugated elements
I sprayed the entire canvas in a pink Glimmer Mist. I can't give you a name because I actually mixed a few bottles together. Let's just call if softy pink ; )
I then put the butterfly Glimmer Screen down and used Peacock, Apple and Autumn Nights which coincidentally go really well with Sassafras Indie Girl.

I stamped some butterflies with my Studio Calico butterfly stamps and I also stamped some grass with a Stampin' Up stamp using Tim Holtz Distress Ink Crushed Olive.

I had a lot of fun with this. It was messy and creative and I just love using canvas. I'm sure you'll be seeing more ; )

My debut!

Hey everyone, today is the first day that I am officially on the fabulous design team These are a few of my favourite things.
So todays challenge is what is your Favourite magazine????
Mine? Well, I am smitten with Scrapbook & Cards today! Not only are they Canadian but they have fabulous designers and amazing inspiration. So this is what I came up with:
I used one of my Studio Calico kits since the colours were perfect and threw in a few other embellies.
Think you'd like to try this challenge? Head on over to These are a few of my favourite things
check out the rest of the DT's creations and find a little inspiration and get started.
There is an amazing prize up for grabs...

I also wanted to share this birdhouse I made and am entering for the Simon Says Stamp Challenge. The challenge is anything but a card!
I bought a plain wood birdhouse at Michael's and used Adirondack Color Wash and Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists and Glam. I also used Sassafras papers. I thought it turned out pretty cute. My girls want to put it outside for the birds but I don't want it to get weathered ; )

I think you still have some time to play in this challenge. Just go Here for details.
