Let me start over ; )

I'm sorry about my last post. I wasn't sorry about posting about Lydia's blog I was going to explain why I haven't been on here lately and got distracted. Oops!!!
Anyways, I have been feeling down about the world of scrapbooking. Lots of things went on this summer and I don't want to get into details but I have decided for now that I am laying low. My priority is to teach at the fabulous Scrapbook Parade and then to do some challenges on the side. I still have my guest DT spot in October for the awesome Design Dollies which I am so excited for. I will also be doing DT work for my old faithful XOXO. Needless to say I feel this will keep me adequately busy. Maybe next year I will think about doing more DT stuff.
So without further a due here are some layouts I did for some challenges.
First up is a challenge over at American Crafts. The challenge was to use 3 pattern papers or more. This turned out to be a very clean and simple layout which I seem to be doing more and more lately. I say the complicated stuff for my classes ; )
I used AC Dear Lizzy "Spring", AC Thickers, and a variety of Dear Lizzy embellies. I also stitched around the edge with my good ol' sewing machine. You can check the challenge out here.
Next up is the monthly sketch challenge on the Crate Paper blog. For this one I used their fabulous Restoration line some AC Thickers and I made my own crepe paper ruffle. I might have to do a tutorial for it because I love how they are turning out!!!!
Here is the layout:

These next 2 layouts are for the store I teach at Scrapbook Parade. I have to tell you I have been busy with the store. We had Tricia Ladouceur come last week for our Weekend to Unwind. Let me tell you it was so much fun. A little exhausting (can't imagine how Carol felt) but it was fun. I would love to show what we made but I can't : (
Anyways here are the 2 layouts I can show you. The photos aren't great. I was in a hurry when I took the pictures.

Isn't Carol awesome for letting me play with this line? It is My Minds Eye.
Anyways, hope I did bore you with my big long story.

XOXO

Project 12 and other news...

It's that time again~ Project 12 August sketch is due September 20th. I really love my layout this month. I used some of the papers from Studio Calico's July kit and some Sassafras papers as well as a whole bunch of Prima flowers. I also tried my hand at making my own crepe ruffle.
This is the sketch:
and here is my layout:
My journaling talks about how busy August was with tons of visitors, festivals, getting to ride in a helicopter and hubby and I going on a full day date Kayaking on the ocean.

In other news I have another class coming up at the Scrapbook Parade in Victoria. This is a Halloween mini album using My Minds Eye "Blackbird" collection.

Sooooo cute

I have been creating like a mad women. I was away for a wee holiday and came back knowing all of my supplies arrived for my upcoming classes at the Scrapbook Parade. The first one is this fabulous tree:

Look familiar? The fabulous Lolly Chops gave me permission to copy her original that was a huge hit at CHA this year. Unfortunately mine is not nearly as Lollylicious but I think it is pretty darn cute. Mine also didn't take as long so I hear. Lolly if you would like the instructions on the easier version please email me (hehe) ; )
I also finished a Halloween mini album which I have yet to take pictures. I seriously just finished. Go check out the Scrapbook Parade if you are in the Victoria area. We have tons of fabulous classes and the store is getting tons of new products in!
On another note my little munchkin started her first day of preschool. She was soooo excited and when I picked her up she was full of stories. Isn't she cute!

I am exhausted. I am still trying to catch up on blogs so if I haven't left a comment I apologize. Being away from the computer for that long is hard on a gal!

Bad, bad blogger

I am sooooo behind on my Learn something new everyday. Anyways, my latest entry was Even though I'm a good cook somethings don't come out looking pretty and that's okay. I will post photos of that ongoing project when I'm all caught up.

Another thing I learned was that Lola's attention span is not quite ready for family movie night. This kid is CRAZY!!!!

I also have to mention that I received a fabulous FedEx package yesterday. I had hurt my back earlier this week and have been feeling pretty sorry for myself. I am not one to lay on the couch and watch tv but unfortunately this week has been all about that. Well when the package showed up at the door I jumped for joy (as much as an injured back would allow). My 6 bottles of Glimmer Mist came and I can't wait to play with them. The colors are delicious!!!!!

Stay tuned for some projects using my new love : )

One last note is that the great online store Torendi is celebrating their 1 year anniversary!!!! Happy Anniversary Torendi. We love your stuff. Go check out their store because they carry fabulous stuff such as Washi Tape, Sassafras products and best of all... Bam Pop!!!!

Design Dollies

I did it! I managed to pull off another Trifecta once again from the Design Dollies challenges this week!!! Well kind of... you'll see.
So here is the sketch:
and here is the color combo:
and for the elementary challenge it was to scrap a back to school layout about YOURSELF!

Here is what I came up with:

I used the fabulous Bam Pop papers for this layout. I love how fun they are. As you can see my color combo is slightly off. I just had to use these papers but the "green" is more of a sage green??? ; ) and the "pink" is more of a rusty pink???? I did however use pink letters. That counts right : )
So it is true, I was the principals daughter. I always got the "OMG, your dad is the principle. Do the teachers treat you different? Do you get caught doing bad things?" Why yes the teachers did treat me different. They were a lot harder on me and yes I did get caught doing bad things. I think my dad new a lot more then he let on though. Even though he was there day in and day out of my life I wouldn't have had it any other way. I was still super popular even though I walked to school with him almost everyday.

If you want to play along go HERE for all of the details!

Learn something new

Well the "Learn Something New Everyday" class is underway. I have to admit the only thing I have actually finished is the front cover (photo coming soon). However I have started learning something new. For my first day (September 1st) my first entry was a serious one. I learned that I am very fortunate to care for my family. Sometimes we take for granted what we have and forget that those around us sometimes can't afford even the essentials such as food. I have always been aware of how privileged I am but I do forget that even though I live in a nice area that there are those who are struggling right in front of me.
I do have a layout done for this entry but I did not get a chance to take a photo.
I am really enjoying this class. It is a nice change from concentrating on LO's just about my girls.
