Look what I did!!!

Okay I guess I wasn't so busy this weekend since I got a couple of layouts done. I'm still not 100% happy with these layouts but I'm working on it. I apologize for the pictures they're not great but the lighting was terrible.

I'm falling apart

Sorry no scrapbooking posts lately. I'm trying to get organized for Christmas. We will be redoing our entire Kitchen and front entrance during the Christmas holidays which means no scrapbooking for the whole month of December. Well maybe a few projects here and there like Tim Holtz's 12 tags of Christmas! Anyways, we are busy planing and also prepping for Christmas with our 2 little girls. I'm starting to think we are nuts. So this week I have to get presents finished and put in the mail, make and send Christmas cards, put up the tree, do some baking and manage to keep doing my workouts (did I mention I am trying to get back into my pre pregnancy shape? Anyways, lots to do so I probably won't be blogging much nor posting any recent projects but I do need lot's of well wishes to help me survive this month. Did I mention we are doing all of this on our own since we live 12 hours away from our family and friends?

To knit or crochet?

So for Christmas I really want a pair of knitted or crochet slippers. I found a pair on etsy

Now I am inspired to make a pair. Does anyone crochet or knit? I have knitted a scarf but that is the extent of my knitting skills. I have heard that crocheting is easier. Can anyone help me out? Should I venture further into knitting or should I convert to crocheting? I love crafts!!!!

Just another layout

I had a few spare moments to work on a few layouts. I'm going through the I don't know if these layouts are very fabulous stage. To me they seem marginal. I need to kick it up a notch. What do you think?

So after waiting too long for my photos to arrive I finally got them yesterday! I worked hard all day adding them to my new mini album that I worked oh so hard on. I love Cosmo Cricket paper and embellishments and this album I think shows how much I adore them so Cosmo Cricket crew if you're reading this... I LOVE YOU.

A new layout!

I'm entering this layout for the Sketchy Thursdays sketch 11.5. I made this layout using a few techniques I've learned at http://balzerdesigns.typepad.com/about.html.
I'm loving this class but just haven't had a lot of time to try out the techniques. So here is one I attempted last night using plain white cardstock, distress inks, gesso, Kaiser craft flowers, glimmer mist (on flowers). I used the distress ink with lace cardstock to create the blue/purple swirls I then used the straw blowing technique for the sort of splatters that look like bird poop ; )

So I have been a busy gal. My parents have been here visiting for the past 10 days so I only got a little bit of scrapbooking done. I did however manage to create my very first mini album. I am just waiting for my pictures. Once they are added I will post some pics. Once my guests have flown the coop I will get a little more scrapping done!!!! I'm also taking a mini album class at my LSS using Cosmo Crickets "Earth Love" I'm super excited but after the one I just made I think I could be teaching ; D

I'm on a role

Ok, now that I have figured how to post pictures on here and managed to access my photos finaly I will show a few of the layouts I did last week. Keep in mind I am in the middle of reno's and have 2 little wee ones that keep me busy. I'm hoping to get more done soon and do a little bit more glamorous layouts. I have yet to journal (you'll notice the blank spots) I had writers block

I am so computer illiterate...

You know how they say a housekeeper has a dirty house, a plumber has a leaky toilet and it goes on. Well my husband is a software developer and I am completely useless on the computer. I try, I really do but I really am useless. Today I tried to put a Sassafras blinkie on my sidebar and I cannot get it to work. What am I doing wrong? If anyone can help me out please shed some light. I'm too embarrassed to tell my husband ; )

On a similar but different note I finally have scrapbooked after 4 long months. We made a major move back in June and I had to pack all of my stuff into storage until this last weekend. Yipee! I made 1 double page layout and 1 single page layout. When I download the photos I promise to post.

I'm a feeling fine!!!

I am so excited!!!! As of August 23 I will be an official resident of Vancouver Island. My husband and I have been wanting to move here for years and finally our dream has come true. We have been living in a vacation rental for the summer and it has been wonderful but... I miss my own house and belongings.

Who Knew?

I really never thought that I would have kids. I don't know why I ever came to that conclusion. After meeting the man of my dreams I decided to give the idea a thought. Now after welcoming our second beautiful girl I couldn't imagine life any different. Kids really make the world a better place. You do see things in a better way. You laugh a whole lot more and I usually laugh a lot anyways. I just want to share how in love I am with my family. I feel I am truly the luckiest person in the world.
