Project 12 October

A quick post to share my latest project 12. I've actually had it done for a few weeks now but completely forgot to share. My cropping is horrendous. Not sure what's going on with my photography skills lately but here it is:

Again, I used my Studio Calico kits. Love the colour in this layout.

I can't tell you how much I love doing my project 12. My September layout was featured HERE.
Scrapbook and Cards Today, I love you and I truly love Project 12!!! Can't wait for 2012!!!

The latest

Heu everyone, remember me? I know, I know I have been terrible. There really isn't enough excuses but I have been training hard. Last week I completed my first century ride. I rode 100km on my bike. I have a 100 mile ride coming up in the spring so I'm training hard plus I have a running race in Disneyland end of January and then 2 triathlons in the summer. Wow, that made me tired just writing that. Anyhow, my scrapbooking is suffering big time. I did however get a few layouts done recently and one of them was for the fabulous DT Urban Swank!!! Have a look-

I LOVE the colours in this one. You can check out all of the details HERE. I also would love if you shared some love over there.
Thanks for stoping in.

Are you ready for Halloween?

I know, I know, it's been a long time. I have been working a lot more than I should, I'm training for my triathlons and the kids are in way too many activities. That being said there's isn't much time left for scrapbooking. It makes me so sad. I just want to have a few days to devote to the craft I love most.
Anyways, last week I was trying to make a few halloween decorations for the house. I've always been a fan of the witches hats that I see all of the place so I decided to use my Urban Lily papers and play around a bit.
You can see more about the hat over on my post at Urban Swank.

Next thing I wanted to get done is my monthly project 12 page.

As always, I used my Studio Calico kit. I swear the Project 12 is the main reason I get to dabble in scrapbooking. If I didn't have it to play for my glue would probably be drying up by now. I seriously have to get back at it.

Have a look-see

Hey everyone, can you believe this is my second post this week? I think I might be getting back on track : )
Today over at the Urban Swank Blog I have a post about a cute little calendar I made.

You can see how I made it over at THIS POST. I would love if you stopped by to have a look.
I have a busy day today. Off to my LSS to plan some classes and I don't know about you but Thursday night is TV night at my house.

Project 12 august

Hey everyone, I am finally back on track getting my scrapbooking grove on. Last week I went to a friends house and got 5 layouts done. That's right!!! 5! One of those layouts was the August Project 12.
Here is the August sketch:
08project12_aug2011
and my version...

I used one of my Studio Calico kits for this one and the August project 12 sketch. I added the row of photos on the bottom left since I had so many great shots. I also changed my photos to look a little more vintage to match the layout colours I chose.
A pretty simple layout this month. I'm finding a lot of my everyday layouts tend to be this way.

Later this week I have a post going up at Urban Swank. You won't want to miss it. A little altered frame turned into a monthly calendar. I will keep you posted.
Have a fabulous week and I will see you back this Thursday.

It's been a long time.

It has been a very long time since I have posted anything new on here. Well, the summer has been busy. We have had so many visitors and I have gone back to work as well as continuing with my triathlon training. So all that being said I really haven't been spending a lot of time on my scrapbooking. I did manage to squeeze in an evening a few nights ago and accomplished my July project 12.

Now it's not by best layout but what I love about it is that I added the kraft folder where I hid all of my journaling (because July really was that busy). I also tucked in a few photos that I didn't incorporate into the layout.
Anyways, on a sad summer note our yard was broken into sometime last week and we had over $500 worth of tools stolen. I don't care about the tools but we have a 1/2 acre yard and all I can think of is what if this person was lurking around when the kids were out there. Why do people have to do things like steal from others????
Anyways, hope everyone on the east coast are staying safe.

You can check out more of it HERE.

It's about time!

Do you know how long it's been since I scrapbooked for myself? Way too long!!! I have a whole bung of Studio Calico kits piling up in my scrap room that have been calling my name. I haven't bought any new supplies (besides my SC kits that ship automatically) in who knows how long. That just isn't like me. Although I'm sure hubby is thrilled I'm not spending money ; )
Anyways, this weekend Shimelle is having an online crop and I thought I would try and play along as much as I can. I starting with her mix and match sticker challenge.

I used parts of my Studio Calico kits as well as some Sassafras stickers, Basic Grey stickers, and AC Remarks stickers. I also used 3 different stamps and couldn't help but add some mists.
Here's hoping that I can do a lot more layouts!!!!
By the way, did you catch my post at Urban Swank yesterday? You can see it HERE!!!

Are you ready for some fun?

Happy Monday!!!! It is a beautiful day and I have some fun things to tell you. Practical Scrappers turned 2 and we are celebrating!!!! We have a fabulously fun week going on over on the blog and some great contests too.
"Join us all week long for fun features, an online recipe contest, a blog hop, and all kinds of fun prizes! Stay tuned to see how you can win a gift certificate to Robin's Nest, a Scraptastic kit, or a Pink Paislee gift package."
The recipe challenge is going to be a fun one. Here are the details:
All this week we are going to be doing an online recipe contest.
-Each day, Monday thru Saturday, I'm going to give you two new items to add to your project (it can be any kind of papercraft).
-You can add one of each item or twenty...as long as it's on there somewhere.
-You are also able to alter it in any way you wish (so cardstock can be punch, embossed, etc). -
On Saturday evening at 8:00 Eastern Time I will give you the last two things to add and you will have two hours to complete your project and link it up.
-If you are an international participant and need me to email you the last two sooner, please email me at practicalscrappers@gmail.com and we will figure it out!
-I encourage you to start today because it's just fun to go day by day, but if you can't start when you can and still add all the items in that same order.
-As you are working don't think of each step as your final chance to add that item, that's why I give you two hours at the end you can go in and add anything and everything else you want to it at the end.
-A winner will be chosen and announced next Sunday! The prize will be a $25 gift certificate to Robin's Nest.
-Pictures/adhesive are a gimme...I expect you'll start with those :)

So please head on over to the Practical Scrappers blog to get all of the details and play along. I will be posting the 2 ingredients for the recipe challenge each day.
Todays ingredients are: Cardstock & Patterned Paper
Have fun and keep checking in!

On a side note I saw one of my layouts was mentioned on a pretty fabulous designers website...
Have a great week everyone!!!

Recovering

Hey everyone, today I have a post up at Urban Swank that I would love for you to check out. It's my first attempt at a group of cards.
For those of you that know me, I'm not a card maker. So I would love if you gave me some love over HERE
On that note I have to apologize for not popping in to say hello lately. I have been MIA in the wonderful world of Blogger due to some heavy duty training.
This past Sunday I completed my first individual triathlon with my BFF.
I ended up beating my goal by 5 minutes and came in 3rd in my group. I was so excited!!!
Here's a few photos... the swim (which ended up being 250M longer than expected)
Then I biked
Then parked the bike and onto the run
and then the big finish!!!

Now that my race is done and I can walk again I will be visiting blogs again ; )

June Project 12

Hey everyone, it is another beautiful day on Vancouver Island. Today I have my latest DT post up over at Urban Swank. I used my awesome Urban Lily papers to complete my June Project 12. I would love if you came over HERE and checked it out and leave me a little love : )

Also, Practical Scrappers has an AMAZING giveaway going on today. They are doing a feature on Front Porch Kits. My awesome friend Lolly is one of their designers and she is the queen of craft. She is so stinking creative and has a major love for teal (I don't blame her). So please go check out the giveaway and of course spread the word!!!
Latest challenge is up at the Design Dollies. It is a great summer Trifecta.
On a last note, the latest challenge is up at These Are A Few Of My Favourite Things. Sadly though, this will be the last challenge. I am soooooo terribly sad about this news. It was truly one of my favourite challenge blogs and I was thrilled to be asked to be a part of their awesome DT. Julie is so amazing and made that blog what it was. Julie, I completely understand your hard decision and I support you. We all love you to bits and pieces and THANK YOU for making These Are A Few Of My Favourite Things a great place to be.

A lovely summer Trifecta

Wow! I can't believe it is the end of June already. We just got back from a fabulous adventure to Wallace Island British Columbia and it definitely got me into the summer spirit!!!

The next week, we had a great elements summer that focused on summer themes.

And lastly our summer sketch:
So with all of those challenges in mind I came up with this layout:

I used my Studio Calico kit with the awesome new filmstrip stamp. I have to say, I am so in love with this stamp. I have a feeling you'll be seeing more layouts with it : )
Wanna play along with us? You can hop on over here for the specifics and you have until Sunday July 3rd midnight EST.

Project 12

Well, I finally seem to be getting back on track. I'm feeling good, I'm working out again, and I am scrapbooking again. Today I have the latest Project 12 I have completed. This is my second year doing it and I love that I have a layout a month that sums up all of the adventures we have had. Here is what I created for May using the Project 12 sketch:
I used bits and pieces from a couple of my Studio Calico kits. I even utilized the Crate Paper chipboard piece and made it into a secret journal box.

The story isn't so secret ; )
If you haven't played along with the Project 12 it isn't too late. I highly recommend it.
