It's been a long time.

It has been a very long time since I have posted anything new on here. Well, the summer has been busy. We have had so many visitors and I have gone back to work as well as continuing with my triathlon training. So all that being said I really haven't been spending a lot of time on my scrapbooking. I did manage to squeeze in an evening a few nights ago and accomplished my July project 12.

Now it's not by best layout but what I love about it is that I added the kraft folder where I hid all of my journaling (because July really was that busy). I also tucked in a few photos that I didn't incorporate into the layout.
Anyways, on a sad summer note our yard was broken into sometime last week and we had over $500 worth of tools stolen. I don't care about the tools but we have a 1/2 acre yard and all I can think of is what if this person was lurking around when the kids were out there. Why do people have to do things like steal from others????
Anyways, hope everyone on the east coast are staying safe.

It's about time!

Do you know how long it's been since I scrapbooked for myself? Way too long!!! I have a whole bung of Studio Calico kits piling up in my scrap room that have been calling my name. I haven't bought any new supplies (besides my SC kits that ship automatically) in who knows how long. That just isn't like me. Although I'm sure hubby is thrilled I'm not spending money ; )
Anyways, this weekend Shimelle is having an online crop and I thought I would try and play along as much as I can. I starting with her mix and match sticker challenge.

I used parts of my Studio Calico kits as well as some Sassafras stickers, Basic Grey stickers, and AC Remarks stickers. I also used 3 different stamps and couldn't help but add some mists.
Here's hoping that I can do a lot more layouts!!!!
By the way, did you catch my post at Urban Swank yesterday? You can see it HERE!!!

Are you ready for some fun?

Happy Monday!!!! It is a beautiful day and I have some fun things to tell you. Practical Scrappers turned 2 and we are celebrating!!!! We have a fabulously fun week going on over on the blog and some great contests too.
"Join us all week long for fun features, an online recipe contest, a blog hop, and all kinds of fun prizes! Stay tuned to see how you can win a gift certificate to Robin's Nest, a Scraptastic kit, or a Pink Paislee gift package."
The recipe challenge is going to be a fun one. Here are the details:
All this week we are going to be doing an online recipe contest.
-Each day, Monday thru Saturday, I'm going to give you two new items to add to your project (it can be any kind of papercraft).
-You can add one of each item or twenty...as long as it's on there somewhere.
-You are also able to alter it in any way you wish (so cardstock can be punch, embossed, etc). -
On Saturday evening at 8:00 Eastern Time I will give you the last two things to add and you will have two hours to complete your project and link it up.
-If you are an international participant and need me to email you the last two sooner, please email me at practicalscrappers@gmail.com and we will figure it out!
-I encourage you to start today because it's just fun to go day by day, but if you can't start when you can and still add all the items in that same order.
-As you are working don't think of each step as your final chance to add that item, that's why I give you two hours at the end you can go in and add anything and everything else you want to it at the end.
-A winner will be chosen and announced next Sunday! The prize will be a $25 gift certificate to Robin's Nest.
-Pictures/adhesive are a gimme...I expect you'll start with those :)

So please head on over to the Practical Scrappers blog to get all of the details and play along. I will be posting the 2 ingredients for the recipe challenge each day.
Todays ingredients are: Cardstock & Patterned Paper
Have fun and keep checking in!

On a side note I saw one of my layouts was mentioned on a pretty fabulous designers website...
Have a great week everyone!!!
