These are a few of my fav things...

I love, love, love Julie's challenge blog: These are a few of my favorite things. When I saw this weeks challenge I fell backwards in excitement. This week is all about favorite scrapbooking manufacturers. Well, I love a LOT of manufactures. No, seriously I do. I love Sassafras, Cosmo Cricket, Maya Road, October Afternoon, Pink Paislee, Tim Holtz, and the list goes on and on. But, my ultimate favorite as I'm sure it is with most of you lovely scrapbooking addicts is Studio Calico! I love everything about them. Their kits, their papers, their stamps. You name it I love it. I am sooooooo excited for all of their new goodies coming out from CHA summer. Anyways, here us the layout I did honouring the fabulous Studio Calico:
I used everything SC except for the rub ons which were Maya Road.
It is so super fun to play along so hop on over to These are a few of my favorite things to join in on the fun.
I am so excited. Starting tomorrow I am doing Shimelle Laine's Learn Something New Everyday. This is my first class from her and I can't wait! You will be seeing many posts from me (hopefully). So I chose to do a 6x6 album. I love mini's but haven't done very many. I am also using some Pink Paislee stash that I have been setting aside for the right project. Look out for some fab stuff : )

Well I had my first series from my 6 week class yesterday. It was so much fun! These ladies are great!

Next week will be jam packed. We have oodles of techniques to cover one being a gel medium stamping technique with glimmer mist:

(just an example, not the actual layout).
and these are the actual layouts we will be completing:

(sorry bad photo)
Can't wait until next week!

Creative Scrappers

Well I did it again! I played along with the Creative Scrappers sketch again! This time I worked with sketch # 118. I have to admit I have been trying to avoid using banners. Not because I don't love them but because I try not to follow the trends too much (see this post) So I caved and used the banner.

Come play along its fun! Creative Scrappers!!!

I can't believe it

Well today is my birthday! I won't tell you how old I am but I am still closer to 30 than 35 : )
The family took me out for breakfast and once hubby is done work we are headed into the city for some fun (I have no idea what is in store????)
Another big thing is my 6 week class that I am teaching at the Scrapbook Parade in Victoria. I am so excited for this class. I put a lot of blood, sweat and tears into it and I think it will be fabulous. Here is a look at all of the fabulous goodies you get with the class

Can you believe all of that stuff? If you are in Victoria and you would love to take a fun class from me visit the store link HERE. It has a list of classes and other fun stuff that is going on.

Just because

It seems lately I haven't done a lot of scrapbooking just for my own pleasure. I am either doing a layout for a challenge, a design team, or for a class to teach. So this layout is just because. It is of me and my big girl when she was only 18 months old. Seems like forever ago.

I used Crate Paper "Brook" collection and some rub ons I had laying around. Not even sure what manufacturer. The flower is cheese cloth spritzed with Peacock chalk glimmer mist.

Can you say EEEEEEEEKKKKKK!

So this morning started off a little bad. My little one was up almost all night (yawn). While getting breakfast my older one started being a little naughty (banging head against cupboard door). Well when my mail lady showed up with my Pink Paislee warehouse box and then the man in brown showed up with this
my day took a turn for the absolute best!!! I have been dreaming and drooling about Crate Paper's
Restoration since the minute I laid eyes on it. Now you may ask, how the heck did you get your hands on this lovely paper pack???? Well, I got an email one day saying I won and to send them my email. So I gladly did. Then I got another email saying oops wrong person sorry. I was sooooooooooooooo sad. So I was extreme;y bummed to say the least. Then the next day I got another email saying sorry for the mistake we will send you a prize anyway. Can you say WOW! I just have to Crate Paper, you guys rock! This is why you are one of my favourite companies!
Now I need to start creating.

A few LO's

Happy Friday!!! I can't tell you what a fabulous time I am having right now. My parents have been visiting so hubby and I have been going out on lots of dates : )
Last night my paper storage unit arrived so I cleaned and organized my scraproom. I can't believe how organized I am now. It makes me happy. Anyways, here are a few creations...

I need to re crop this one since it now looks crooked (oops). I got the idea for this layout from a shirt I saw at Gap a few weeks ago.

This next one I have been planing in my head for a while. I thought it would be cool to do a layout that looks like a chalkboard. If my kids were in school I would have done a school LO but they are too young. I'll have to do another one next year when my big girl starts. Anyways a friend of mine had some chalkboard paint left over from a project and she gave the rest to me so I didn't even have to buy any. I also used my wood veneer paper for the trim. The one corner curled a bit but that's what happens when you use paint.

Have a great weekend everyone!!!

Spectacular!

I just received my photos from our Kayaking trip and had to share! I feel so lucky to live on Van Island. It's beauty is unexplainable, the activities that we have had the opportunities to try is unbelievable and all I can say is I love it here.
Saturday we were lucky enough to go Kayaking on the ocean for the entire day. I hate to sound like a dork but it truly was magical!!!
Here are some photos:
Me just starting to head out

My handsome husband in his Aussie hat (keep in mind it was a ridiculously hot day)

Me trying to do an assisted rescue. Everyone thought I was a wimp because I was struggling to get the boat out then our guide realized the boat was full of water where it shouldn't have been. I then became the uber strong girl ; )

I forgot to mention that this day trip was my husband and I anniversary gift to each other. Our friend caught a snap shot of us going in for a kiss (insert awe here).

What a fabulous time!

What a day

I had another fabulous day. Spent the whole day Kayaking out on the ocean. I can't even begin to tell you how amazing it was. I don't have photos... yet, since I don't have a waterproof camera (thinking I need one now). Luckily one of the ladies took lots of photos and will email them to me. Can't wait to share!

Flying high

Can I just start by saying I am having a fabulous day? I went to get the mail this morning and...

Can you believe these fabulous goodies? My fabulous, amazingly talented, amazingly supportive friend Catherine sent me all of this swag just because. Can you believe it? My jaw dropped when I opened this awesome package. How lucky am I? Catherine if you are reading this... YOU ROCK!!!!! Many, many hugs to you. I can't even describe how excited I am to play with all of these goodies and there is even a ballerina stamp in there.
Please go check out her fun blog and say hi: http://paperaddictcatherine.blogspot.com/

Another reason that today was great is our friend flew in for a visit. What I mean by flew in:

that's right he has in own private helicopter. So cool right???? Well I was lucky enough to go for a spin with DD.

Unfortunately little one was too little to go but doesn't she look cute sitting in the seat.

We flew over the ocean over our community, it was fun.
Bye Shawn we had fun seeing you!

I just received my great kit from the Pink Ninjas and I LOVE it! It was full of wings to add to my little devils LO's. You say what? You have a little devil? I sure do. She can be called a little devil, little monster I think they are all quite fitting. See this post for proof ; )
Anyways, when Simon Says Stamp had a challenge to use things with wings I knew just what to do. Here is my LO:

There is an amazing prize up for grabs so come play along. Go here for all of the details!

Sharing

I just wanted to share this LO I did recently. I got my inspiration from my lovely friend Julie. She runs the fabulous challenge blog These are a few of my favorite things. I love that blog because it gives me the chance to scrap more about myself which I don't do enough if. So I did a layout about my current fav things. Julie this LO is for you!

I did it!!!

Well friends, it is about time. I finally played along with the Design Dollies. It has been way too long since I last played along so this LO is way overdue. I managed to pull of a TRIFECTA !!
So here is this weeks sketch:
and the color prompt:

and for the elements it is all about best Friends!
Here is what I came up with:
This is my best friend ever. It was only last year that we both had to move away. She is way out East and I am now on the West coast. Even though we live so far away we still get on the phone and it is like we are still in the same place. Love that girl!!!
Anyways, it is always fun to play along with the Dollies so go here for the details!!!

I also threw in this LO I did last night. I had seen somewhere stitching a word onto a LO so I gave it a try. You can't see it very well even though I had used teal thread. Even my close up doesn't show it well. Anyways the title is love this sweet baby.

Some creativity!

Well, I am back at it creating away! I have lots to share so I will just throw in a few LO's here and there to wet your whistles ; )
First up is this lo of my dad with my big girl. My dad manages a golf course and my DD loves to go and help him. She especially loves to go out on the course and golf. I used my July kit from Studio Calico.

Next up is a LO I did using some older Crate Paper. I love Crate Paper soooooo much. I am looking forward to all of their new products especially Restoration. The little tag in the top left just off the photo is from Studio Calico.

Last is a super fun LO using Echo Park. Another company I am loving. I wanted to share a link to their website but I'm not finding anything. If anyone has a web or blog address please pass it on to me.
My baby is growing up. She is talking up a storm but she really is a little monster. She climbs onto tables to scrounge for food, when she talks she turns it into a growl kind of like morrrreeeeeeeeeee. A little hard to explain in a blog ; ) Anyways as cute as she is don't be fooled. She is seriously a monster. Love that I finally made use of my Sassafras felties!

Thanks for looking and have a fabulous weekend (I know it is only Thursday but I believe in the summer everyone should have Fridays off!)

On a side note... go HERE for your chance to win a Silhouette!

Just checking in

Hi friends, where have I been you say? Well, I took a break. I had a bit of a rough week last week and I decided it was time to take a little time away from Scrapbooking and the wonderful world of blogging. I had to take the time to think about why I do this, what it means to me, does it make me happy? So after some thinking I am back and in full force. I have been working on a few things so stay tuned and I will share real soon I promise : )
I just want to give a HUGE shout out to the lovely and talented Lolly! This lady is fabulous! Not only is she so stinking creative that it makes me green with envy but she is also the sweetest thing ever. While she was at CHA (which also made me jealous) she stopped at the Upsy Daisy Booth to take pics of my creations being displayed. Just for me. So Lolly, thank you so much. You are a good as they come. XOXO
