It's all crazy around here

Happy Monday everyone. I am a little late posting today, we had a VERY busy weekend, I'll explain in a minute.
First up we have a new challenge going on at These Are A Few Of My Favourite Things. It's another super cute challenge, Fav Childhood Toy! You absolutely HAVE to check out what the DT created. Super great layouts! I'll tell you a little secret... there's some Crate Paper goodies up for grabs!!! You can see the details HERE!
Next up is a super special challenge going on at the Design Dollies. This week we want you to have a peak at some of our (the Dollies DT) favourite challenges. Then we want you to choose a Dollies creation from the selection we chose. Then you get to scraplift the project you chose in any way you want! This is my favourite that I have done:
So please head on over to the Dollies and have a look and then pick from those projects and scraplift however you want and then link it up! Check out the details HERE
Now why am I so busy? Well, this little monkey had a little accident:
Right at bedtime she decided to climb up onto a chair and slipped off of it landing in a horrible position. So I packed her up and hauled her off to the hospital only to wait 5 hours and then be told we have to come back the next day to get a cast. Not a happy mumma : (
I'm so glad she's okay though. Poor little thing. The rest of the story though is that we didn't get home until midnight and I had to be up the next day at 6 am for this:
The water was soooooooooo cold. I might have let out a swear ; )
My first triathlon! I was exhausted from lack of sleep and worry about my baby so I went 4 minutes over my desired time for the 1500 M swim. I did well but I would have liked to have done better. I had a blast and can't wait for my next one in July.
Hope you all have a fabulous week and I am off to the gym for more training even though I am still tired.

Are you up for the challenge?

I'm back!!! We got home mid week and I am playing catch up in a really big way. We had a great time back in Alberta visiting Family and Friends. I have to say though, it sure is nice to be home. Driving 12 hours with a 2 and 3 year old is tiring. They sure were troopers though.
I even got some scrapbooking done while I was out there!!! I'll share some layouts in the next few weeks.
Now onto a layout I can show you! The May Trifecta challenge is up over at the Design Dollies. Lets recap shall we???
The fabulous colour combo:
Remember you can choose 3 out of the 4 colours.

Then we had fancy folds element challenge

and lastly we had the fabulous sketch Karen B designed for us:
and this is what I came up with:

I ended up using all 4 colours. I used GCD Studios Animal Crackers line as well as a Hambly Woodgrain overlay in brown. I received a ginormous box of GCD Studios goodies when I got home last week and had to play around with all of the fab goodies. I thought is was perfect since the photo I used was from the zoo.
I flipped the sketch this time and then put my title to the side and of course added a pleated (folded) edge to the oval.
Now you fabulous Dollie players are very lucky. This week we are giving you an entire extra week to get your entries in so come play along with us. You will have until midnight EST June 5 2011. So come join the fun and who knows you might be our next winner of one of the fabulous prizes!!!!
I also want to mention the latest challenge over at These Are A Few Of My Favourite Things. We have the Fav Photo challenge going on. You still have time to play along over HERE for that one.
I also want to mention that my other DT Practical Scrappers is having a great little giveaway!!! Did someone say kit??? Go on over THERE to get your name in for a chance to win that!!!

Last note... I got my big box of goodies from Urban Swank!!! Lots of luscious, gorgeous, fabulous Urban Lily goodies. I am going to play with them tonight. So stay tuned because I will starting to post over on that blog too : ) Now the fabulous DT has started showing off their new projects so hop on over there and say HI!

Fav Photo

Good Sunday morning to all of you fabulous friends! Today is a new challenge over at These Are A Few Of My Favourite Things. This challenge is absolutely fabulous. It's your fav photo challenge!!! This was a hard one for me. How do I pick just 1 photo? I decided on an adorable drooly shot I did of my babe when she was 7 months old. I've always loved this photo.

I used my November kit from Studio Calico. It had some yummy Crate Paper in it : )
Now you have until May 28th to get your project linked up here. What's up for grabs you say? An awesome new Magnet Everyday Frame.

Also last chance to get your fancy folds creation in at Design Dollies. Wow! Did we ever get a lot of entries for that one.
I'm off to my friends house for a full day of scrapbooking! We're still on holidays so it will kind of be like a mini retreat for me.
Have a great day!

Monday Monday

I hope all of you fabulous moms out there had a great Mother's Day. I had a great day except I have been pretty darn sick. So the best part of my day was hubby letting me sleep in for a bit to get a little much needed extra rest.
Today's challenge over at the Design Dollies is to be creative with folds. I was originally going to make a layout but I knew I needed to make a birthday card for my mom so I decided to give this one a try.

I've seen this fancy folded card done a few ways and it took me a couple of tries to figure it out but I managed to get it done. I used AC Celebration line. Super cute birthday line. The other Dollies also came up with some great fancy folds too. Make sure you check them out and try some fancy folding for yourself and get it linked up to the blog for a great prize!
Also up is another project using the AC Celebrations line.

This layout is for my DT spot at Practical Scrappers. We were asked to create birthday layouts. That's my baby who just turned 2 in March. There are some fabulous things going on over at Practical Scrappers. We currently have a little giveaway going on. You can check it out HERE. I have another layout that will be up on the blog Wednesday.

These Are A Few Of My Favourite Things latest challenge is going on and it is all about Spring! The DT made some super Springy projects and if you get your entry linked up in time (9pm EST May 13th) you will have your chance at winning a $20 Gift Certificate from http://www.geckogalz.com/ so head on over HERE to play along.

Just got word that my Urban Lily products are on their way for the Urban Swank DT!!! Super excited for that.
Now I am off to blow my nose and get some more rest. Have a great day everyone : )

How do you celebrate NSD...

Happy Mothers everyone!!!! I hope all you mommies out there had a wonderful day. I had a cute card I made for my mom that I was going to share but I can't find the photo on my computer now and I am about 12 hours away from my hard drive at home that does contain it. That being said many of you may notice I haven't been blogging much and that is because I am on holidays so I will do my best to catch up when I'm back : )
You're probably asking how did I celebrate NSD if I wasn't at home??? Well, I was on the road driving all day Saturday so I did miss out on a LOT of fun activities and contests but the fabulous folks at Studio Calico has their challenges open until May 13. Fortunately I brought some of my scrapbooking stuff with me. I don't normally do this but I get to spend an entire day with an old scrappy friend of mine so I figured I would get some stuff done all week. I don't have all of my tools and gadgets with me so my layouts are a little more simple than usual.
This first layout is from Laura Kurz's challenge to show how you use stamps on layouts.
I use stamps on a lot of my layouts. Usually I just stamp right on my page but sometimes I with stamp an image and then cut it out.
Next up I combined 2 challenges. I used Waleska's outside inspiration (the colours from the magazine page) as well as Lisa and Jen's challenge to use Fabrips and Tape. Unfortunately I didn't bring any Fabrips with me so I used my Washi Tape.

Next up is paint with Tina. Now I didn't bring any of my traditional paints with me but I did bring my mist paints and Ranger Adirondack Colour Wash. I also used more than 4 photos on this page which was the challenge from Kelly and Stephanie.
So what I did is I used my Adirondack Colour Wash as paint/ink. I spritzed some on my misting mat and then dipped my stamps into the colour wash. I also flung the wand from the mist to get paint splatters. It's the best I could do without my regular supplies.

Lastly for today is Davinie and Kimberly's hand stitching challenge. I know one of my other layouts also had hand stitching so maybe they'll give me 2 points for that ; )
This layout is very plain and simple for me, but something you don't see very well on the layout is in the rainbow I have written out the words to a song that my parents sing to my girls. This is one layout that I went into great detail to tell all of the story.
So there you have it. I managed to get 6 of the 10 challenges done. I'm going to try and get the rest done tomorrow.
I don't know if you've heard but Celine Navarro has an amazing online Summer Camp that starts June 28th.
I love Celine's work and I love her classes. You can check out all of the details HERE!
I'll see you back here tomorrow for the new challenge over at the Design Dollies.

Colour challenge anyone?

Happy Monday everyone! Today I'm here with a new colour challenge from the Design Dollies!!!
The Dollies were kind enough to let us choose 3 of the 4 colours : )
Here is what I came up with:

Now I'll be honest, I cheated a little. I really don't like royal blue. Never have and hopefully one day I will but since I used it twice last month I could do it again so I kind of used teal. I know Lolly will be proud ; ) I just could get the creative juices flowing looking at that darn blue so I admit it I cheated a wee bit.
I would love to see what you came up with so jump on over to the Dollies blog and link up your creation by Midnight EST Sunday May 8 (Mothers Day).

There is also a new challenge up at These Are A Few Of My Favourite Things. This time we want to know what your favourite thing is about Spring???? The DT came up with some gorgeous inspiration. You can link up your creation HERE for your chance at a fabulous $20 GC to Gecko Galz. You have until 9 pm EST May 13th.

Just got word that my box of DT goodies are on route from Urban Swank! Can't wait to get my hands on them. Can you tell I'm super excited? In the mean time check out the latest at Practical Scrappers. Lots of eye candy this week!
