How do you celebrate NSD...

Happy Mothers everyone!!!! I hope all you mommies out there had a wonderful day. I had a cute card I made for my mom that I was going to share but I can't find the photo on my computer now and I am about 12 hours away from my hard drive at home that does contain it. That being said many of you may notice I haven't been blogging much and that is because I am on holidays so I will do my best to catch up when I'm back : )
You're probably asking how did I celebrate NSD if I wasn't at home??? Well, I was on the road driving all day Saturday so I did miss out on a LOT of fun activities and contests but the fabulous folks at Studio Calico has their challenges open until May 13. Fortunately I brought some of my scrapbooking stuff with me. I don't normally do this but I get to spend an entire day with an old scrappy friend of mine so I figured I would get some stuff done all week. I don't have all of my tools and gadgets with me so my layouts are a little more simple than usual.
This first layout is from Laura Kurz's challenge to show how you use stamps on layouts.
I use stamps on a lot of my layouts. Usually I just stamp right on my page but sometimes I with stamp an image and then cut it out.
Next up I combined 2 challenges. I used Waleska's outside inspiration (the colours from the magazine page) as well as Lisa and Jen's challenge to use Fabrips and Tape. Unfortunately I didn't bring any Fabrips with me so I used my Washi Tape.

Next up is paint with Tina. Now I didn't bring any of my traditional paints with me but I did bring my mist paints and Ranger Adirondack Colour Wash. I also used more than 4 photos on this page which was the challenge from Kelly and Stephanie.
So what I did is I used my Adirondack Colour Wash as paint/ink. I spritzed some on my misting mat and then dipped my stamps into the colour wash. I also flung the wand from the mist to get paint splatters. It's the best I could do without my regular supplies.

Lastly for today is Davinie and Kimberly's hand stitching challenge. I know one of my other layouts also had hand stitching so maybe they'll give me 2 points for that ; )
This layout is very plain and simple for me, but something you don't see very well on the layout is in the rainbow I have written out the words to a song that my parents sing to my girls. This is one layout that I went into great detail to tell all of the story.
So there you have it. I managed to get 6 of the 10 challenges done. I'm going to try and get the rest done tomorrow.
I don't know if you've heard but Celine Navarro has an amazing online Summer Camp that starts June 28th.
I love Celine's work and I love her classes. You can check out all of the details HERE!
I'll see you back here tomorrow for the new challenge over at the Design Dollies.
